NUMC’S ANNOUNCES $55M ER EXPANSION

On March 25, The Nassau Health Care Corporation, recently announced the $55M expansion of the emergency department at Nassau University Medical Center. The major revamp and modernization of the emergency department along with radiology and comprehensive psychiatric evaluation program, offer the community the latest in emergency services with increased ability to respond to threats and mass casualty scenarios.

Funded by the Nassau County Tobacco Securitization Program and the New York State Healthcare Efficiency and Affordability Law II Program, this expansion marks another important step in the turnaround of the NHCC and will ensure financial viability and advanced emergency services for Long Island residents.

Also, on March 19 the Division of Occupational and Corporate Medicine opened at NUMC to provide expedited care of pre-employment physicals, back evaluations, workers’ comp services, drug testing, immunizations and all occupational consultative services for any Nassau County business or organization.
