CSEA Pres. Ranks as One of LI’s Most Influential

The May 17th edition of the weekly newspaper, The Long Island Press made CSEA Local 830 President Jerry Laricchiuta number 14 on its 5th Annual Power List, which ranks the top 50 most influential Long Islanders over the past year. Laricchiuta was number 26 on last year’s list.

The Long Island Press said in regards to the Local 830 President: “When you are the president of the largest labor union on LI, you can always get somebody to listen to you. Laricchiuta made history when he beat an incumbent for the seat two years ago by a two-to-one margin. Since then, he has walked softly and carried the big stick of having an entire union behind him when he needs to get something done.”

A reception was held for all the Power List members on May 22nd at Maxwell & Dunne’s Steakhouse in Plainview. Other members included government officials, labor leaders, corporate CEO’s and community activists.
