Nassau University Medical Center announced on February 21, that they offer specialized monitoring and treatment services available to those persons in the New York area and beyond, who may have developed health problems as a result of their exposure to the World Trade Center (WTC) disaster.
“While the full scope of 9/11 related problems is unknown, a growing body of evidence suggests that significant health conditions have emerged that are associated with the disaster,” stated Nassau Health Care Corporation CEO Art Gianelli.

NUMC is a participant in the federally funded Long Island WTC Monitoring and Treatment Program.  The program provides free, confidential screening and continued monitoring and treatment for rescue and recovery workers who participated in the WTC response.  Treatment, medications and counseling are also available free-of-charge.
