CSEA Takes Part in Annual Police Memorial

The Annual Nassau County Police Memorial took place on May 16th at Police Headquarters in Mineola. The annual memorial commemorates the lives lost by both active and retired Nassau County Police Officers.
65 retired, and 3 active officers died in the past year, and over the past 80 years, 29 people have suffered the ultimate sacrifice of dying in the line of duty. Overall, 145 law enforcement officers lost their lives in the year 2006 in America. Over the years, 17,917 names have been engraved on the National Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. to represent all those who have died in the line of duty, with the first dating back to 1792.

CSEA Local 830 President Jerry Laricchiuta was on hand along with CSEA Unit Presidents Mary DelMare (Crossing Guards), Larry Loiselle (AMT) and Chris Roberto representing Debra Imperatore’s Police Civilians Unit. Floral arrangements were presented by all 4 to Nassau County Police Commissioner James Lawrence. |
