CSEA Wins Leave For Breast Cancer Screening For County Employees

CSEA's "Leave for Breast Cancer Screening” legislation was signed into law by the governor on August 16.  This CSEA-authorized law allows county employees up to four hours excuse leave annually for breast cancer screening.  The time cannot be charged to employees leave accruals.

The union has been working to secure this benefit for county employees since a similar benefit was granted to state workers in 2002.

The law, which went into effect September 16, encourages breast cancer screening because early detection saves lives.
